Overseas Abacus and SoroTouch class

About Mirai Kids

"Bringing out the potential in our children."

Mirai Kids is an abacus school based in Brisbane and Gold Coast, Australia. Online lessons are also available, and students come from all over the world.

In addition to the tangible benefits of improved math skills, students are also able to learn how to use the abacus in a variety of ways, such as "I want to do this! I want to go this way! and "I want to go down this path!" and to nurture the human ability to choose their own future and make it come true.

Through abacus,
nurture growing "brains" and rich "minds".

Mirai Kids" will support the growth of children's brains and minds at the same time through abacus education.

It helped him develop persistence.

My 4-year-old son loves numbers, and when I was looking for a class where I could help him develop his strengths, I was attracted to SoroTouch because of its solid curriculum. It was a good opportunity for him to develop his tenacity through the valuable experience of falling behind in math, which is his strong point, when he reached a difficult level.

From the mother of Max (age 5)

I felt my heart grow.

The most surprising thing since we started the lesson was that the children started doing their assignments by themselves as soon as they woke up in the morning. This is not only for the sake of practicing mental arithmetic, but it may also be related to the children's emotional growth. I look forward to seeing the children's growth as they become more independent and self-reliant in the future!

From the mother of Ameri (age 9)

It has given me the ability to do more mental arithmetic than I ever imagined!

In just one year, I can now do three-digit mental arithmetic, and it has helped me in my daily life as well, as I can look at license plates and calculate on my own, or total up the items I buy at the supermarket. He is an experienced abacus player, but his mental arithmetic ability is already better than his parents!

Lecturer Introduction

Aiming to "Bring smiles to children's faces in the classroom”

Lecturer Yukari Iida

Since the opening of the school in 2018, we have had the pleasure of working with more than 100 students through abacus, SoroTouch, and Japanese language education, with the aim of "bringing smiles to children's faces".

Children sometimes cry in frustration, but the smiles on their faces after overcoming their frustrations are special. I try to talk to my students not only about calculation skills, but also about the power of perseverance and the importance of having the confidence to say, "I can do it!" I try to provide guidance that supports both intellectual and emotional growth.

There is no age limit. (It is recommended that children have an interest in numbers and be able to write numbers. Children are at different stages of development, so please consult with the instructor if your child is under 4 years old.)

What is the difference between abacus and SoroTouch course?

The goal of both courses is to acquire "the ability to calculate by heart". In the Soroban Course, students begin to use the abacus to calculate, and as they progress, they begin to practice mental arithmetic, practicing both abacus and mental arithmetic in parallel. The SoroTouch Course specializes in the mastery of mental arithmetic as students learn mental arithmetic from the beginning using a tablet. In the SoroTouch course, the abacus itself is not used, but an application that displays the image of abacus beads is used instead. Please see below for more detailed course information.
